Case 01: Do headmasters dream of ultimate knifework?

"Oh, you wish to see nurse Killgood? Alrighty then!" Monokuma quickly put on his nurse gown and lipstick.

"Well, you see... It's a herbal mix of different herbs. Very effective for causing sleeping effects. But it does nothing else."

Arty's hands had not been touched at all, what with some fingerprints that did not match with anyone in the trial. Probably just people brushing past him. [EVIDENCE CONCLUDED TO BE UNIMPORTANT TO THE CASE]

[Arthur Geissler]

While Osamu made his point across, Arty would put out his arms for Osamu to check on if there was someone who had been pulling on his arms which could've gotten some fingerprints on it. The young man with glasses also asked a question about the medicine in general after which the nurse had stated that the medicine was a herbal mix of different herbs. And yet again, the ruffian was clearly convinced that Arty was the killer, no doubt about it. It was not good to change Yamato's opinion about it, but he still needed to clear his name. He was determined to not let his name get stained any further, but the questions is...how? The answer might lie to the killer himself...

"So, the medicine...was a herbal sort, correct? It must've had some sort of property that made the other students sleep while the murder happened in the afternoon. In that case...I was asleep while it happened and therefore, I could've not had done it. Well, I doubt that I would be off the hook yet, but those kitchen knives will be intriguing evidence for me to examine in this case." He was certain that he was asleep at the time, but he feared that the ruffian might counter his argument.

[Yamato Tatsuma]

"Psh. Well, let's look at it from this fuckin' angle then, okay?" Yamato shook his head as he then slammed his hand against the desk, revealing that both of his hands were completely bandaged. "I got myself into an accident earlier today, so I couldn't leave those handprints because of all these fuckin' bandages." He then leaned back. "An' there were no handprints left by headphones or mister Moby Dick over there, emphasis on Dick." He stroked his chin for a moment before pulling his hand away from his chin, letting out a slight whimper. They still clearly hurt.

"I'm not moving from my opinion on this fuckin' case, it's as clear as day. Or do ya fuckwits have something that could condemn this whole fuckin' theory? If not, I'll just sit here on my arse and wait for a vote to happen."

He spoke under his breath. "Fuckin' pigshits."

[Daniel Saotome]

Daniel nodded towards Yamato's direction.

"He's right, in a sense. Only Arthur's fingerprints were found, but since nobody messed with them, then that means that Arthur must have held the knives prior to the murder. That doesn't make sense, though. I hate to repeat myself, but the mandatory health checks... Wait."

Daniel felt as if he had struck mental gold.

"We were all alright when we got examined by the nurse before the class with the headmaster, right? And then we fell unconscious during the class, which allowed the killer to murder the headmaster. Wouldn't it be possible that one of us stole the medicine while they were being examined and somehow managing it without being caught by the nurse? I'd like to search the bottle of medicine for fingerprints."

He didn't show it, but Daniel felt proud of himself for giving such an answer. He just hoped that it would get the trial participants somewhere.

[Oleggosauron]

Monokuma pushed himself into the argument midway, his hands folded... Or as folded as those two stubby things could be, really.

"Oh, the bottle has no fingerprints! Upupu..."

He then backed away to his seat, clearly proud of himself in some way.

[Osamu Gushiken]

Osamu continued to examine Arty's sleeve after the results of the fingerprint scan were revealed to him. Even if there were no prints there might have been other clues left behind and no doubt the young Cook would feel perticularly manhandled after the Director was through. If he found anything he would make a loud note of it but either way he would demand that the other boy take off his jacket so that his arms could be examined as well. These would be scanned for finger prints just to be consistant and to make sure no other clues be hidden from them. Once this was confirmed he would turn to Yamoto who has just revealed a potential important clue alongs what Saotome had discovered about the pill bottle. Osamu checked over several of the new pieces of evidence that he had collected.

Truth Bullets

Printless Bottle: No Prints were left on the Bottle in the vent which was used to knock out the members of the class.

Murder Weapon Knife Set: Weapon used to kill the victim. For some reason all the knives were used instead of just one. First attack was fatal to the neck/throat area. Arty Gessiler's prints were covering the knives.

Yamoto's bandages: The Reserve course student was injuried and thus had to wear bandages over his hands. Likely happened either during the check up or slightly before. Possibly means he had more oppurtunity to steal the drug from the Nurse.

No Prints on Gessiler's Sleeve: Despite Osamu checking there were no prints discovered on the Ultimate Cook's sleeves which could either disprove his theories or prove them.



The Director took a deep breath and before continuing the conversation he began silently emptying out the pockets of his jackets and trousers to prove they were empty. He set everything out on the podium in front of him and pulled so that the inside of the pockets were all sticking out. He held his arms up to show the rest of his body and to prove that he wasn't hiding anything else. Next he would walk over and empty the pockets of the victim out to make sure there was nothing else hiding in them as well.

"Now when I checked those desks and when Saotome checked them there was no signs of any gloves hidden around there. Monokuma if you will be so kind as to double check them for the sake of speed. If needs be I will strip down to prove that I am not carrying any gloves on my person." He would turn to the other students and very coldly issue an order, it was not a request, he expected each of them to fullfill it without question.

"All of you empty your pockets out on the podiums in front of you. Pull out the pockets to prove you have nothing hidden within them. I'll also need you all to agree to a search by myself." He motioned to his pockets and stuff in front of him as an example to them all about what to do. He then turned to fix his eyes on Yamoto, a cocky smirk appearing on the talented student's face intended to annoy and frustrate the other boy. A hand rose to point a finger accusingly at the reserve course student.

"Yamoto Tatsuma. First off I'm more Alfred Hitchcock than Moby Dick. Secondly your entire arguement is flawed from the very premise. Your lack of fingerprints does not save you from your crime, in fact it is what links you to the crime."

*Presents - Printless Bottle*
'Or do ya fuckwits have something that could condemn this whole fuckin' theory?'

"If Gessiler had planted this bottle his prints would have been covering it completely just like the knives. What kind of Killer wears gloves to plant a method for knocking everyone out and takes them off to perform the killing?" He folds his arms in front of chest staring deeply into the other man's eyes whilst he waited for the others to empty out of their pockets.

[Oleggosauron]

"Oh, OH. OH!" Monokuma fell onto his back, clearly doing it in an overly dramatic way as he laughed. "Things are truly heating up! Wonderful!"

He then coughed and seemingly went trough the examination. "Oh, I can speed this up. No gloves were hidden here, or anything else that could hide fingerprints. I also checked the pockets of everyone else. Along with their whole body." He rubbed the back of his head, the white side blushing. "Just saying potty-mouth is kinda compensating something."

"Anyways, continue, continue... Although I must say, you are..."

"Making it overly complicated."

[Arthur Geissler]

What came next was that Osamu had asked him to take off his jacket, so that his arms could be examined better. Arty took off his jacket and was issued another order. That order was to empty out his jacket, so that there would be no suspicious items inside. He pulled out some of the items that he had in his jacket and placed them on the podium, certainly those items were not really suspicious. Just some items that he probably needed to use for cooking itself. Osamu had presented some good evidence in the trial so far and also proved Yamato's argument to be invalid. Arty couldn't breathe out a sigh of relief yet as the trial was still not over, but it was getting pretty close to the truth.

He looked over to the kitchen knives, but didn't touch them at all. Those knives...were the only piece of the puzzle that can bring this case to light, but he had a feeling that the ruffian might present some damning evidence to counter Osamu's arguments. "I'll agree to a search. Also, I would like to add that I had never handled the bottle prior to the murder." At this point, he felt like he was being accused of murdering kittens.

[Yamato Tatsuma]

"Oi... Oi? OI OI OI?!" He leaned forwards, his eyebrows raised for a moment as he did not seem that furious... He was more looking like... Well. You know, looking at some of those special people with some pity in his eyes as he rubbed his forehead for a moment. "How stupid can ya be, god dammit. Do I have to do this whole fuckin' groundwork by myself?"

He tapped his desk for a moment, leaning forwards as he let out a very clear sigh of frustration. His eyes then closed as he begun to speak, for once not letting out any curse words. He sounded surprisingly calm, all things considered.

"You know, the dude could have been wearing gloves then, ya know? There was a clear timeframe between the time the killer first came to prepare and the time we came here. How do ya know he didn't just throw the gloves away right after placing the bottle there?"

He pointed his finger to the cook. "Furthermore, the dude KNEW I had these. Everyone in that fuckin' health check did. So he probably did it so that he could plan this whole shit out."

"Lemme recap. Health check, blue eyes mcgee sees me with the bandages on. He decided to wear some gloves as he stole the powder shit right after his check up. He then came here and placed the bottle inside the air vent system. After that... We found those earplugs earlier, right? He plugged those up his nose and closed his mouth when the powder came in. He had thrown the gloves away earlier, so he just decided to use his good old kitchen knives and finish the headmaster."

"After all, he had someone among us who could not leave any fingerprints, that being me. He knew I had bandages. So he did not wear anything to cover his hands as he did the stabbing. After all, no-one would be stupid enough to leave something so obvious behind, right? He then probably washed his hands and returned to playing dead until we woke up."

After that explanation, Yamata proceeded to empty his pockets, revealing clearly old bloodied bandages, and nothing else. "Here's the shit I have on me."

[Oleggosauron]

"Puhuhu, I can confirm that there was a... Half a hour or so timeframe between the whole setup and the actual murder." Monokuma glared at the students. "You're getting close, puhuhuhu!"

[Daniel Saotome]

Daniel revealed the contents of his pockets as well, if his pockets had contents to reveal. Nevertheless, he began to think about the recent events again.

"The time of death was around 12:15 as you told us, Monokuma. And if there was a timeframe of half an hour, then that would be plenty of time to prepare the murder. Of course, the ones who were checked earlier had more time at their disposal, right?"

He then turned towards Yamato.

"Sorry to say, but something you said bothered me. If 'Everyone in that fuckin' health check' knew that you had bandaged arms, why are you singling out Arthur as the one who did it, aside from the fingerprints? Anyone in this room could have plugged their nose with the earplugs and held their breath as they went in for the kill. And then there's the question of a motive. Why exactly did the headmaster have to die? I'm playing the devil's advocate right now, but I would think that a reserve student had more of a reason to kill the headmaster than a talented student."

[Oleggosauron]

Monokuma let out a slight cough, rubbing the back of his head as he looked about as embarrassed as he could. "Well... Umm.."

"Puhuhu, we haven't exactly gotten into programming good motives into our system yet so, ahm... This crime didn't kinda have a motive. Wait for the next class and we'll see if there will be a motive!"

[Osamu Gushiken]

Osamu kept his eyes locked on Yamoto as the reserve student revealed even more theories about what had happened. This suggestion was almost worth considering until the Director rememebered what Monokuma said about over complicating matters. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes briefly to calm his minds and organize the facts as they stood. His eyes opened just in time to see the reserve course student set down bandages covered in blood on the podium. Seemed like they had a few more pieces of evidence to add to the list which just might unveil the whole case in front of them. Osamu just had to unravel it for the others so that there was no question left. There may not have been a motive for the crime however he couldn't help but think that there was a reason that the Ultimate Cook was picked for the suspect.

Truth Bullets

Earplugs: Yamoto suggestes that these were used to plug up the Killer's nose to protect them from the effects of the drug. It was discovered in one of the desks which likely means that the killer couldn't dispose of them or risk having them on their person.

The Knives: The knives used as Murder weapons are obviously covered in Gessiler's fingerprints but that isn't the only thing that they were covered in.

Yamoto's Bandages: The Reserve course student was injuried and thus had to wear bandages over his hands. Likely happened either during the check up or slightly before. Possibly means he had more oppurtunity to steal the drug from the Nurse.

Used Bandages: Seems thats the Reserve course student's bandages were changed at some stage. The previous ones are covered in blood and were stuffed into his pocket.


Again the Director would go quiet to consider what the other Talented student not currently a prime suspect has to say on this case. Osamu had not totally ruled them out at this stage but so far none of the evidence had pointed to them and this trial was supposed to be easy. He couldn't imagine that they would program in such a strange reveal without at least leaving a few clues for class to find. Once Daniel was done talking Osamu would face his foe again as he was ready to continue on his offensive route. There were a few things that needed to be cleared up first however. He reveiwed the Reserve's testimony a final time.

"An interesting theory... but what if..."

*Presents Truth Bullet - Used Bandages*
'He then probably washed his hands and returned to playing dead until we woke up.'

"What if the killer didn't need to leave the room to clean their hands of the victim's blood? What if the Killer's hands were merely covered at the time and he then changed their bindings after the deal was done? That is a possibility which wouldn't require the killer to leave the room again which is risky bussiness for a murderer."

Osamu would turn to Monokuma after making this statement with a confidant smirk plastered on his face. He felt that he was on the right track and he was likely unwilling to listen to the opinions of others that might try to push him off the path. However there was one person he needed confirmation from.

"Monokuma. If possible I would like a blood comparison between this item and..."

*Presents Truth Bullet - The Knives*

"We know these are covered in Gessiler's fingerprints but they also have the Victim's blood. If I'm right they should be a match. Yamoto you can voluteer a sample of your own if you like."

[Oleggosauron]

"Puhuhuuuu. I already have samples from everyone, so no need to go over that... ANYWAYS. I have a VERY big surprise for you all..."

"The bandages only have his own blood in them. No blood of the headmaster on them! Although, you're STILL being overly complicated, puhuhu... Maybe Yamato should reveal something? Or maybe the real culprit should come out?"

"Or, allow me to quickly change something. The BLADES of the knives have both the victims blood... And his blood. You got close enough, so I gave you this hint. Your mission is to determine what it means."

[Yamato Tatsuma]

[CUT IN]

Yamato kept staring at the man for a moment. Like, the dude was grasping at so many fucking straws it was not even funny. He needed to put an end to this shit before the dude would embarrass himself even more. He let out a rather loud sigh as he rubbed his forehead. "Ya know, you comparing yourself to Hitchcock only works because you truly ARE a fuckin' cock. But the point still stands in that you are so fuckin' wrong it hurts my FACE. I'm going to end this embarrassing shit right now so we can all go fuckin' home."

Yamato proceeded to unwrap the bandages, revealing that his hands had deep cuts, as if he had been gripping something very sharp. "Ya know how one could get these kinda wounds easy?" He tilted his head. "By grippin' a knife's blade. Ya know how the headmaster was killed? Using knives. How could my blood be on those blades? I was... GRIPPIN' THE FUCKIN' BLADES AS I STABBED THEM INTO HIM!"

He seemed rather angry,. "Are ya retarded enough to not get that kinda shit? Psh, I'm starting to see what the talents really are. All talk, no brains."

"See, I actually had THREE sets of bandages. One was before I even got any wounds at the nurse's. I threw them away after I placed the medicine there. I then took new ones after the whole gas happened. Ya know how? I gripped the blades on the fuckin' knives, ignorin' the pain as I stabbed all the knives into him. That's why my blood was on 'em. I then really got wounds, so I put on those old bloodied ones and waited for the bleeding to stop before switching them for new ones that were not as bloodied."
